So I suppose I should post an update:
I have put the project on hold for a while as I had schoolwork to do. Nevertheless I found the current path the project was taking to be not good, so I decided to reboot it completely. The Masigna thing is still there, but I've done a lot of changes to the story and am currently drawing a new map. In short, the story now centers around a new Team: the Ghost Hand [tentative title, lol]. While the professor and others are researching the Masigna phenomenon for the benifit of people and Pokemon, Team Ghost Hand uses it deliberately and also uses genetic modification on their Pokemon in order to make them stronger and to gain more abillities. This is where the player comes in. You'd be walking in the fields and doing some errands when you see a couple of Grunts attacking a weird looking Eevee, and you take this Eevee and battle them. The Eevee they're after is one that's been through an experiment, and reacts differently to the Masgina compared to other Pokemon [more on that later]. I'm not making the story so convuluted, but at the same time I'm not just planning on the regular pick a starter/rival/etc. stuff. Spoiler Alert: One of your 2 rivals joins the Ghost Hand D:
I'm not spoling the team's motives and stuff, you'll have to play the hack when it's finished to find out :P

Well technically I didn't change much :S I just never talked about the story in detail before. I'm redoing it because I've gotten a bit better at ROM hacking, and it originally was incredibly messy, so I wanna start fresh with better plans. Plus that "little foundation" is basically the whole game :P

All in all though, I'd say that it's for the better.
