Platinum Red and Blue Versions
 

THIS PAGE IS HEAVILY OUTDATED. PLEASE CHECK THE PAGE AT THE OFFICIAL SITE FOR REGULAR UPDATES AND FEATURES.

Pokémon Platinum Red and Blue Versions are 2 separate gba hacks, both using Fire Red as a base. I repeat, Pokémon Platinum Version on the gba. Platinum Red is a FULL DEMAKE, while Platinum Blue, still using Sinnoh, has many other features and sidequests. Note, I'm using has, not will have. A ton of Platinum Demake plans have been thrown off to the side, not finished, and/or given up on. Why? Because having a gen 4 demake is honestly quite hard. You're going from a more powerful system to its predecessor. But, I haven't given up.

Mystery Gift ~ Mystery Gift is indeed included. There will be events so stay updated on the threads, and there's a tutorial video on how to get events.
Sinnoh Region in its best ~ Using the Platinum tiles, looks, everything [and even things like the distortion world]
DS styled sprites ~ Thanks to Chaos Rush's DS 64 x 64 Sprite Resource
493 Pokémon ~ YES, this IS a feature. NO, I did NOT use the 649 patch or use a tool. This was done by hand, and a little advice from the greatest hackers of all time
New moves ~ Yes, the moves up to DPPt are in, not fully matching animations but at least you HAVE them ;D Some moves don't have correct effects yet either.
Forms (Formes) ~ Yes, this isn't all me :D My plan was to trick the player, but thanks to my partner daniilS, we have fully functional formes, and a working rotom appliance script (thanks buddy)
Day and Night ~ Using DNS for now, I'm waiting for Shiny Quagsire's system
Sinnoh music ~ Wait, this isn't all ;) thanks to ipatix
Day/night music switch ~ Yep, the music changes between time of day, making the feel perfect thanks to Jambo51
A removed help system ~ Thanks to Doesntknowhowtoplay (Doesnt)
Magma Armor and Flame Body implementation ~ Thanks to Hackmew, eggs hatch twice as fast when a Pokémon with one of these abilities is in your party
Indoor Running ~ I know almost every single hack has this, but it's part of the gen 4 feel
Platinum intro and titlescreen ~ Completed the intro and Title Screens!
Class based trainer music ~ So instead of the trainer battle in every single song like FR, it actually works like it should, playing rival music on the rival, etc.
A WORKING Physical/Special Split ~ Thanks to Doesntknowhowtoplay again :D
More trainer encounter music ~ Making the trainer encounters like Pl
The trainers face you when you come near them ~ FR did this because in RBY you ignored the trainer too :P
Incense items ~ You can now get a munchlax from a snorlax with an incense, etc.
Re~usable TMs ~ I know this wasn't part of DPPt, but let's face it, why spend money on the same TM over and over?
HMs to match Pt ~ Rock climb, defog, etc.
New Evolutionary stones ~ All evolution stones are officially in and working, INCLUDING the dawn stone!
New items ~ All new items are in. Also a little Easter egg for the one who finds the dummied out Pt. items :D Effects are in progress
Lowercase ~ The ROM doesn't shout at you
A working version of JPAN's hacked engine ~ Since the engine has issues, I fixed them thanks to karatekid552's thread on it
A few Gamefreak bug fixes ~ Including the dex and the roaming Pokémon IVs glitch
DP Font ~ Self explanatory
No "previously on your quest" ~ thanks to diegoisawesome
BW2 repel system ~ Thanks to darthatron
Choose the starter properly ~ An RSE Choose starter port thanks to Shiny Quagsire
New evolution methods ~ All new evolution methods are in, no tricks, no bugs as demonstrated by the videos
New Pokeballs ~ WORKING new pokeballs (none replaced). These are thanks to JPAN's research, daniilS' asm and knizz knowledge of FR's inner workings. Also the sprites are thanks to Bela
Diagonal walking ~ Yes! Walk diagonally :D
EXP when catching a Pokémon ~ Self explanatory

Hackmew ~ His knowledge and fixes threads, the Magma armor and Flame body hack, Gamefreak bugs, and running indoors
Doesntknowhowtoplay ~ Fixing the "cries above 512 don't play" and the "dex freezing" glitches in my 493 extension (without his fixes, there wouldn't be cries for Snover and up, and the dex wouldn't exist at all), also advice, the Physical/Special Split and EXP from catching Pokémon
Karatekid552 ~ Tutorial how to make new Evolutionary stones, being a good friend (we both started hacking at the same time and "evolved" in terms of stuff we know ;D), also JPAN's hacked engine bug squashing
JPAN ~ His hacked engine
Darthatron ~ His small little hacks like the Previously on your quest removal, the physical/special split icons hack and the BW2 repel system
Knizz ~ The smallest name, the biggest help, helped remove unwanted things on the diploma special, helped find many limiters, and tons more. He has almost 100% of FireRed documented, and thanks to that I can accomplish anything possible.
DeltaSalamence (Synchronous) ~ Being one of the first friends I've had on the forum, also his research on the overworld palette bytes for JPAN's engine, being a VBA programmer
Chaos Rush ~ His spectacular sprites, and the battle box template. Also advising me to use the platinum tile system, which is a waaaay better idea than my previous :D
LCCoolJ95 ~ Sending me the correct Pokémon icons. Mine were only one frame :D
jbrown12333 ~ Also sending me fixed icons.
Bela ~ New Pokeballs graphics. Dusk ball, Heal ball, etc are all his sprites. Also he's a great friend. Never missed a day of talking to Bela on the chat :D
_Nex_ ~ His animation rips are the best, they sped things up real quick for me.
Itari ~ Disabling NPC gender-based text colors
Touched ~ Follow me and creating a python script to rip the base stats from Platinum and insert them into PRPB in a second!

First award to Platinum Red and Blue was the HOTM May 2014 award, the first HOTM in years. The hacks had no release at all, so it was purely based on info and screenies, thanks guys for the votes! :D

Q: Will you add shadows to the buildings?
A: Well there's a catch to doing so. Even though I added the new tile system, shadows are going to take a lot of space/time/work. It takes extra palettes (that I don't have), extra tiles (that I may use for other structures), and extra blocks (that I need for making the map). So if all of these inspections pass when I'm done mapping once and for all, I will add shadows. But now, it's just a wall in the road to progress.

I like the concept of having two gba hacks, only able to connect with the other! This will be good for when I convince my buddies and I to play this together!
