Advanced Song: GBA Music Editor [Alpha 0.5]

Advanced Song: GBA Music Editor

Greetings! Today, I come before with what I hope is a ground-breaking new tool, Advanced Song!
Advanced Song is my attempt to create a tool that has what I felt was needed in Sappy.

For now, it's in an alpha stage, and is pretty unstable-ish, and just barely ready for release.

Features

  • Find the Song Table and Song Count
  • Assemble .s Files!
  • Disassemble to .s Files!
  • Change a Song's Voicegroup
  • View the Individual Tracks of a Song
  • Change Track Instrument and Volume (and more!) ~ Will be part of a later release.
  • Edit Voicegroups
  • Edit Waveforms (a part of voicegroups)
  • Edit Wave Samples! (including compressed samples!)
Green = Completed, Red = In Development

Alpha 0.5: Here
** Please read this post before using: http://www.pokecommunity.com/showpos...8&postcount=91
Requirements: Advanced Song will work on any computer that can run a Windows executable on the .NET 4.0 Framework.

Interested? Suggestions? Please, let me know. I like it when people tell me things about my tools.

Just making a quick post to say the current song assembler is not recommended for use, because I did not implement order of operations into it (must have slipped my mind or something). :)

Awesome! It'd be nice if you could make tracker-style interface for it so you won't have to, or would have to veeeery little to learn gba assembly to use it.

Could you make it compatible with normal GameBoy/GBC roms?

I found this to be very useful for what it's intended for, and I tried it on other GameBoy Advance games like Sonic Advance which worked just as swimmingly, but after trying to make a pitch corrected version of Mega Man II (GB) it just simply wouldn't read it because the program only reads .gba files. Would the technology simply not work right without creating an entirely different program or would it be possible. (What I mean is, are GBA games polyphonic like GB/GBC games are in terms of sound? If that is so then it would work fine with other file formats.)

From what it looks like to me, they are indeed polyphonic (at least in terms of having several instruments playing at once in different tracks, with said tracks sometimes including program-changes into other instruments).

I do know of a program called Sarpy (not Sappy) that works with some of the Pokémon GB/C games and is able to extract their songs into .S format which you could load into Sappy and extract as a MIDI, but apparently it doesn't support other games. For those, I'd check out a site like VGmusic.com for manually sequenced MIDIs.
